Some of what runs in your browser when you use this service is open-source software that someone else wrote. This page names it and the license it comes under.
libheif and libde265 (via libheif-js)
Reads photos saved in the HEIC format, the iPhone default, in browsers that cannot read them themselves, so that a photo can be straightened, shrunk and stripped of its location before it is added. It runs in your browser; the photo is not sent anywhere to be decoded.
This service uses libheif-js 1.23.2, unmodified, under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 (LGPL-3.0). That license applies to it, not to the rest of this service. The license text is here; the license it builds on, the GNU General Public License, version 3, is at gnu.org.
